Product Description
The relay senses the Earth leakage current for any equipments like L. T. Panels, Switch boards, Generators, Transformers, Motors etc. These Leakage current if continues can cause insulation breakdown resulting Earth fault, which results in to loss of life or damage to equipment. The PROTIME Earth leakage relay senses leakage current through CBCT & energies relay when current goes out of the range selected on the dip switches. The Relays are provided with user settable (0-10 Sec) time delay. The CBCT is connected externally with the Busbar or cable carrying load current passed through it. The Relay has facility to show fault current indication on pressing STATUS Button. Thus this feature helps user to identify the point of fault & find out the value of fault current passing through it.
Advanced Earth Leakage ProtectionThe ELR96-1/i relay offers adjustable sensitivity and reliable tripping, making it essential for safeguarding people and equipment from earth leakage hazards. Integration of LED indication ensures quick fault identification, while the test and reset features facilitate routine maintenance and operational checks. Its robust compliance with international standards reinforces system safety and reliability.
User-Friendly Design and Enhanced SafetyDesigned for convenient installation with miniature size and screw terminals, this relay features rear supply connections and front-access controls. Choice of flush or panel mounting enables flexible deployment, while IP54 protection and flame-retardant enclosure support operation in a range of environments. Adjustable operate time and DIP switch settings allow for optimal response customization.
FAQ's of Earth Leakage Relays ELR96-1/i A:30mA-300mA:
Q: How does the ELR96-1/i Earth Leakage Relay detect and respond to leakage currents?
A: The ELR96-1/i uses earth leakage detection via a primary current transformer, monitoring differences between the live and neutral conductors. When leakage surpasses the set threshold (adjustable between 30mA and 300mA), the relay triggers a trip, activating its output contacts and illuminating the corresponding LED indicator.
Q: What installation options and reset methods does this relay offer?
A: Suitable for both flush and panel mounting, the relay provides installation flexibility across various switchboards and panels. Users can reset the device manually or electrically through the provided options, ensuring operational convenience after a trip event.
Q: When should I use the integrated test facility on the ELR96-1/i relay?
A: The built-in test push button should be used regularly during routine maintenance to verify correct relay operation and earth leakage protection, ensuring the unit and associated circuits respond appropriately to simulated faults.
Q: Where is the ELR96-1/i relay typically used?
A: This relay is ideally suited for electrical protection in residential, commercial, and industrial installations, wherever earth leakage detection and quick disconnection are essential to safeguard people, equipment, and property.
Q: What benefits does the adjustable sensitivity and response time provide?
A: Adjustable sensitivity (30mA-300mA) and operate time (100ms-500ms) allow precise matching of the relay's operation to specific application needs, minimizing nuisance trips while ensuring prompt response to actual earth leakage faults.
Q: How does the relay indicate its operational status and trip condition?
A: LED indication on the front panel clearly displays the relay's status-showing normal operation or a tripped state-enabling users to quickly assess the relay and system condition at a glance.
