Product Description

The relay senses the Earth leakage current for any equipments like L. T. Panels, Switch boards, Generators, Transformers, Motors etc. These Leakage current if continues can cause insulation breakdown resulting Earth fault, which results in to loss of life or damage to equipment. The PROTIME Earth leakage relay senses leakage current through CBCT & energies relay when current goes out of the range selected on the dip switches. The Relays are provided with user settable (0-10 Sec) time delay. The CBCT is connected externally with the Busbar or cable carrying load current passed through it. The Relay has facility to show fault current indication on pressing STATUS Button. Thus this feature helps user to identify the point of fault & find out the value of fault current passing through it.

Reliable Earth Leakage Protection

Engineered for safety, the ELR96-1/i provides dependable earth leakage protection for power distribution networks. Adjustable tripping current and delay settings enable tailored protection, while test and reset buttons facilitate thorough system checks without disruption. LED indicators ensure at-a-glance system status monitoring, supporting proactive maintenance and quick response.

Versatile & User-Friendly Design

The relay is designed for easy integration into control panels, with screw-type terminals and rear terminal connections. Its robust ABS enclosure and flush mounting construction ensure durability and space efficiency, while selectable reset modes provide operational flexibility in various environments.

Compliant and Durable Engineering

Complying with major international standards (IS/IEC 60947-1, IS 12640), the ELR96-1/i delivers over a million mechanical operations and has an insulation resistance exceeding 100M at 500V DC, ensuring consistent operation in demanding industrial and commercial settings.

FAQ's of Earth Leakage Relays ELR96-1/i E:0.5A-5.0A:

Q: How does the ELR96-1/i detect earth leakage current?

A: The ELR96-1/i detects earth leakage by monitoring leakage current flowing through an external current transformer (CT). When the leakage reaches or exceeds the set threshold (adjustable from 0.5A to 5.0A), the relay trips to disconnect the supply and prevent possible hazards.

Q: What process should be followed to test the relay's operation?

A: You can test the relay's functionality using the TEST and RESET push buttons located on the front panel. The TEST button simulates earth leakage to ensure proper response, while the RESET button restores the relay to operational status. Both manual and automatic reset options are available for enhanced flexibility.

Q: When should I select manual versus automatic reset mode?

A: Manual reset is recommended for scenarios requiring operator intervention before the relay resumes protection, ensuring faults are thoroughly checked. Automatic reset is ideal when immediate restoration is desired and the system is designed to safely recover autonomously after temporary earth leakage faults.

Q: Where is the ELR96-1/i ideally mounted in a power system?

A: The device is designed for flush-type panel mounting, making it suitable for installation in control panels or distribution boards within switchrooms, substations, or equipment enclosures where earth leakage protection is required.

Q: What are the primary benefits of using the ELR96-1/i relay?

A: The ELR96-1/i enhances electrical safety by quickly detecting dangerous leakage currents, reducing fire risks and equipment damage. Its adjustable settings, durability, and clear LED indicators facilitate straightforward operation and maintenance, offering peace of mind in critical applications.

Q: How should wiring and supply voltage be managed during installation?

A: Ensure supply voltage matches the selected model (230V AC, 110V AC, or 24V DC) before wiring. Use the rear screw-type terminal connections for secure attachment, and follow standard practices for integrating the external CT and relay output contacts for safe and reliable performance.
